Welcome to the Black Country Vascular Network

Your Vascular Hub, serving your local community

What do we offer?

We specialise in major vascular surgery for patients in Dudley, Walsall and Wolverhampton.

Based at Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley, the Black Country Vascular Network operates as a hub for the Black Country population. Set up to deliver highly-skilled, emergency and elective vascular surgery, we have been fully operational since April 2013.

By centralising vascular care in one centre, we can help to reduce complications from major vascular surgery and perform early operations to prevent patients having strokes and improve leg circulation. Our vascular specialists also provide the best possible endovascular intervention and successful outcomes for elective and emergency abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) surgery. Although major arterial services are centralised at Russells Hall hospital, patients living close to Wolverhampton and Walsall will have outpatient clinics and diagnostic investigations at their local hospitals.

Your patient pathway will be as follows;

  • Initial consultation
  • In-patient stay
  • Surgery
  • Recovery
  • Post-operative care
  • Discharge

We ensure the best possible surgical outcome and good patient experience at each stage of your clinical care.

The primary aim of this website is to offer comprehensive information about our services to you. We believe you should know each aspect of your patient journey and the management of your treatment.

Please look through the website to learn about what to expect on arrival, the facilities at the centre, our staff, operation procedures and the care that is available.
